Back Bay History

Back Bay started as McNally High School in the 1960s. As we get photos digitized, they are added.

Current School Year

About Us

On the same campus, Back Bay and Monte Vista have served as Newport-Mesa USD's Continuation and Independent High Schools.

Approximately 200 continuation and 100 independent students attend regularly. Continuation students strive to complete credits for graduation. Often due to illness or relocation, students fall behind the annual pace. Back Bay specializes in allowing students to complete requirements faster. Monte Vista serves students who cannot attend daily classes due to work or external circumstances.
