The enrollment and/or registration process for Back Bay and Monte Vista is a little different than that of other schools. Students must be referred by their home school or by Ms. Bishai at Student Services. Students currently attending a school in the Newport-Mesa district should see their counselor or an assitant principal at the school to ask for a referral to BB or MV. Students from out of our district must call Ms. Tayyar at (714) 424-8911 to request an appointment with Ms. Bishai, who will provide them with a referral. Not sure? Please come by or call BB/MV and we'll help you decide if one of our schools would be a good "fit"!

STAR testing has been completed for the 2010/2011 school year. Next year's STAR testing will be in May. All Juniors will test in ELA and US History, and all Sophomores will test in ELA and Science. Additional Math, Science and World History tests will be given to students who have completed or will be completing those courses during the 2011/2012 school year.
The next round of exit exams at Back Bay High School won't be until March 2012. Any 10th, 11th and 12th graders who haven't passed the ELA or Math will be scheduled to test. Students must pass the CAHSEE in order to obtain a high school diploma.
It is not our purpose to become each other;
it is to recognize each other,
to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is.
